Created by someone who understands. Hi, I’m mariah.
I remember 17 years ago feeling absolutely overwhelmed on my car ride home, after my daughter (then 5) had been diagnosed with Autism. The physician was very kind but limited -working from a medical model and lacking good bed side manners. To him, I was just another mom with a child on the spectrum. I was given a packet of information, a hand shake and a “good luck to you”. For years we bounced between various therapies and doctor’s appointments. Many years in, I realized that while I was incredibly grateful for the therapists who had journeyed alongside her and eventually my son as well, there hadn’t been much support for me. Fast forward, stress culminated into auto immune (something I continue to battle). Determined to “give back”, I completed my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy so that I could support the parents, the families, the children themselves as they embrace their unique journey. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Brainspotting to help you work through this thing called life.
